Juliana Braga is a dance teacher from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Her dancing career started when she was 11 years old. She studied modern and contemporary dance at the dance school of Marilene Martins, a leading figure of modern and contemporary dance in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
During her dance studies she specialized in African roots and Brazilian folklore and ballroom dance. At 15, she began her career as a professional dance teacher as a ballerina and choreographer and travelled to Europe to participate in dance festivals and performances.
She established herself in The Netherlands in 1989, recognized by the Dutch Ministry of Culture as an educating artist, and has since then been spreading Brazilian culture throughout The Netherlands, participating in important projects and multicultural festivals throughout Europe and Brazil.
She represents an important role in the diffusion of Brazilian culture all over the Netherlands and Brazil.
Since many years now, she has been teaching Brazilian Dances in the Netherlands. In her classes she works on a fusion between dance technique and body awareness, using rhythms and dances from traditional Brazilian roots.
